Data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics has confirmed the level of home loan lending in July 2009 has remained consistently strong, according to a report released by HIA. This has in turn helped build more confidence within the consumer.
Consumer confidence has hit its highest level since July 2007. The offset of this increase is the RBA may raise interest rates, and the major banks have already indicated they may raise their rates earlier.
